Two Seasons in a Weekend....Welcome to Lubbock!

Brooke finally got to ride her new tricycle on Friday because the weather was so beautiful! We loved being outside and getting some sun after the up and down weather. I took these pictures of her riding in circles around our back patio. She is such a big girl and is just blessing us so much!!!

Then, winter hit. I took this picture 10 minutes ago (Monday night) when Kyle and Brooke went out in the snow to get the mail. Yes, the ground is covered in snow in our part of the world, so we are hoping that school will be delayed for a little bit in the morning. That may be too much to ask for, but it doesn't hurt! We are still here....

Well, much to the surprise to some of my blogging friends, we haven't fallen off the face of the earth. We are still here in our little corner of the world! I thought this blogging thing would be really fun, but once school started, this was the first thing to go! I have missed keeping up with our friends and family and I promise that I will keep up with our blog better!

We had a flabulous (in the past words of our daughter) Christmas and New Year. We had a total of 7 Christmases with family and we had a blast seeing everyone and catching up. The 2nd week of our school break, we moved Brooke to the front bedroom of our house to her "big girl" room. She is now sleeping in her daybed and is loving her new, bigger room. We spent New Years with the Sinclair bunch and celebrated Ashley's birthday together. And this week, we started back into our school routine again. Man, I am tired and it has only been one week. We are so thankful that the weekend is here and we can rest and hang out together.

Brody and Loren's Wedding

Brody and Loren got married on Saturday, August 9th. The wedding was in Stamford, just north of Abilene. What a precious day it was! And I am so blessed with the most darling new sister-in-law. I couldn't have prayed for a better person to complete my brother's life. The ceremony was so sweet, culminating in Brody and Loren serving communion to the guests. Then we headed to the reception, which was a wonderful time of family and friends.

Brooke was the flower girl and I was a bridesmaid, so we got all fancied up for the event! Brooke just had the time of her life. For months, she had been telling everone she came into contact with that she was the flowergirl, so she was overjoyed to finally get to wear her dress and be a 'princess'. She was such a big girl. She froze for a second when she saw the crowd in the church, but after a word of encouragement from our friend Lisa, she walked down the aisle like a pro, dropping flowers and smiling side to side at the guests. Of course, she made me cry -- I was just so proud of her!

Welcome to our blog!

I have been contemplating setting up a blog for a while now, and after the inspiration of my sister in law Nette, and my friends Sharon and Lauren, here we are! I have been blogging with my students for the last 6 months in my classroom and I am even teaching a blogging session at our elementary mini-conference next week, but I am a little slow joining this bandwagon!

I titled our blog Live, Laugh, Love, which is one of my favorite sayings. We have so much in this life to be grateful for. We need to strive each day to live it to the fullest, loving every moment. We have many friends and family members that I have trouble keeping up with. This is my effort to keep everyone in the Reeves loop! I will try my hardest to keep things updated with the events in our lives!
